I built my first model with my father when I was seven years old. It became one of my favorite hobbies along with reading, drawing, and comic books.
Over the years, with work and "life" in general, other hobbies and necessities took precedence. It wasn't until I met my wife, settled into my career, and began relaxing that I decided to once again pick the hobby up.
Since then, I have bought way more models than a single person would ever need, let alone have time to build.
And, being somewhat of a stickler for realism, I also decided to pick up some skills working with LEDs to light the models as well as learning various painting techniques, including working with airbrushes.
Not being truly content with the offering of some of the models I was working on, I also purchased after-market parts to enhance the look and feel of them. Then I thought...hey, why not try this yourself?
And, I was hooked. Starting off with a small FDM printer, I quickly moved to a small resin printer. Soon after, I purchased another - larger - printer.
And, a while after that, a VERY large printer. To date, I have 3 resin printers and one FDM printer with a large volume FDM printer on the way.
Combining the elements of design and science, 3D printing has become a passion of mine.
